In 2008, the country unilaterally declared its independence from Serbia, which not recognised it. The country is in the process to enter the EU - European Union - but 5 of its members - Spain, Romania, Cyprus, Greece, and Slovakia - don't recognise it as a sovrereign and independent state.

Albin Kurti, kryeministër i Kosovës, ka folur gjatë në lidhje me zhvillimet politike.
Në fjalën e gjatë, Kurti ka vlerësuar indirekt Vjosa Osmanin si “propozim partiak”.
“Krerët e PDK-së dhe LDK-së bëjnë deklarata në media dhe rrjete sociale, madje edhe me propozime partiake, por asgjë zyrtare, konkrete, asnjë emër konsensual nuk erdhi as privatisht, as publikisht” – tha Kurti.
